no i mean like genuinely what are the issues facing t people in the uk other than the general prejudices of the public (which require natural shift as well as improved education on gender)? (i genuinely do not know) (and usa is special so)

1. The NHS have no fucking idea how to deal with trans*folk. My GP has told me that I’m a lesbian, that I’m a radical feminist trying to escape the patriarchy by joining it, and that I’m “just a rebellious teen.” I don’t even know what to chalk that up to but it needs to stop. If I have a “Trans* for the NHS” procedure/patient care book why doesn’t she? 
2. Bathrooms. That shit is terrifying and yeah it’s mostly because of the public but I think everyone can agree that gender neutral bathrooms are just fucking brilliant for everyone. Unfortunately they are like wild unicorns. 
3. As far as transitioning goes, you basically have to jump through hoops. You change your name? Great, I hope you’re ok with them assuming you just got married and then having to put you on hold for however long so they can look up the procdure for trans* name changes. Why that’s even necessary is a mystery to me. 
4. Don’t even talk to me about trying to get hormone therapy on the NHS. Let alone top/bottom surgery.
